Support Groups for those Caring for Aging Parents
Caring for a loved one is a difficult task. You constantly question your ability to care for them and worry about their safety when you are not around. This also puts stress on your family, work and social life. Knowing that you are not alone can be comforting, as well as connecting with people who are going through the same problems for help and advice. This is a good way to keep you motivated. Recent studies show that approximately 30 million Americans face the issue of caring for their elderly parents, relatives, or friends and most of these people don’t know where to turn for assistance.
There are programs out there that can help you in making important decisions such as, whether or not your loved one would be better living in an assisted living community, or even providing simple tips on how to continue to care for mom or dad on your own. Sometimes just finding someone who can listen is a great aid to those facing this challenge.
